inCompass is a non-profit consulting practice within iDE, based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. inCompass is the first innovation lab of its kind in Asia, with a mission to bring the best practices in innovation to serve the poor through Human Centered Design approach.
iDE creates income and livelihood opportunities for poor rural households in 13 worldwide.
The projects developed by inCompass are focused on innovation and basic needs of the rural and poor aereas in Cambodia. They develop products and service to improve sanitation, provide clean water and improve agriculture.
For example, The Sanitation Marketing program facilitates the market for rural sanitation by training small-scale concrete producers in the production and sale of sanitary latrines. Among these activities was a deep dive of 3-4 week immersion into the lives of the people and communities. These enabled insights from villagers, concrete ring producers, masons and retailers. iDE use a Human Centered Design approach to explore solutions to change comunity behaviour about sanitation.
