Design for Social Innovation Symposium
Exploring the emerging intersection between design, social and impact in Aotearoa New Zealand: current state and developing futures
15–16th July 2015
Auckland University of Technology – Auckland, New Zealand
On the 15th and 16th of July this year Auckland University of Technology and Auckland Council will be hosting NZ’s first Design for Social Innovation Symposium. This interactive and practitioner focused event will investigate the opportunities, challenges and growing areas of practice at the intersection of impact, social and design.
The goal in hosting this event is to recognise the important ways that design is being applied to social contexts and challenges in Aotearoa New Zealand, and to help set the direction for the continued development of social and co-design capability in this country.
Join them in:
- Bringing together experiences and perspectives from within the disciplines of design, community development and evaluation
- Growing our ability to involve communities in the design and production of the services and policies that impact them
- Understanding how communities want to be, and already are involved in the design of their spaces, places, services and communities
Programme details to be released in mid May. Get in touch if you’d like to participate, skill share or suggest local examples of social innovation in our communities that should be showcased.
