The Lien Centre for Social Innovation

Singapore

The Lien Centre for Social Innovation is a partnership between the Lien Foundation and Singapore Management University (SMU), established in 2006 to advance the thinking and capability of the non-profit sector. Based in Singapore, the Lien Centre seeks to enable global thinking and the dissemination of best practices related to social innovation in Singapore and beyond. Their mission is to catalyse innovative responses to social needs trough applied research and capacity building in collaboration with the public, private and social sectors.

They also disseminate thought leadership through publications that showcase ideas from social innovators in Singapore and around the world, like the Social Insight Research Series.

One of the Lien Centre projects is the SMU Change Lab is a social innovation lab that supports community-led and voluntary organisations to improve social services in Singapore. The initiative, ‘Collaboratory’ draws on research into unmet social needs, and brings together social sector workers and community members to envision and prototype new strategies, services and support mechanisms.
